[Student Group Project] Aeterna Aces - Fighting Game Demo

Aeterna Aces is a small game demo which serves as an entry-level introduction to the fighting game genre with it's turn-based combat system. In this project, we put a spin on turn-based RPGs by exploring how we can blend them with 2D fighting game combat. The main inspirations come from the turn-based combat mechanics of the Paper Mario games. Additionally, we drew inspiration from the gameplay and art styles of fighting games such as Skullgirls, GUILTY GEAR -STRIVE-, and Street Fighter III: 3rd Strike. My role in this project was as animator and partially as game designer. The inclusion of various other artists in the team allowed me to focus mainly on animation.
